These p’casts just keep gettin’ better and better. I love it that you’re inserting a bit more of yourself into the fun. Great mix of music this go-round. And congratulations on the upgrade of the perks for performers. Free parking, eh? Though I STILL long to hear which food item the feature act has chosen. Maybe you need to add the photo section to the site… each week an image of the star and their tin of anchovies, or packet of rice crackers. 🙂
James Houlihan — I wasn’t sure how I was going to feel about this artist at first, because the chords are simple, but the melody is strong and his voice is remarkably expressive. Very soulful music.
Rachel Kiel & Ian Schwartz – Rachel’s vocals are awesome – clear & tuneful and with a lot of range. Killer vocalist! I can definitely relate to this song.
Darren Golden — This song has a nice groove, and once more, a wonderful vocalist! I heard geoff say “wow†after the solo. That was cool. It’s almost bizarre to hear the tiny crowd. Is the whole world full of phillistines?
Dan Gonzales – Loved the story of his first gig. I disagree with his contention that you can’t write good political material in this day and age. It’s just hard to do even in the best of times. I think we have to get over the idea that specific = bad. Quite the opposite, imo. Annie is my fave of the two.
John Paul – This guy reminds me of you a little bit, PJ! I liked the “Thank Uh†at the end.
Cathy — One of the influences I hear in Schumer’s music is Sandy Denny. It doesn’t get cooler than that. Good late night music.
